# SciMatch vs Spark AI

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Spark AI at 100% against SciMatch's 40%. Spark AI also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). SciMatch's advantage is ratings volume (283 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SciMatch sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days and Spark AI sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spark AI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SciMatch has 283 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 40% of SciMatch's written reviews are positive against 100% of Spark AI's.

SciMatch ships an update every 3 weeks, Spark AI every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
