# MD Widgets vs WallpaperZ

The clearest difference is monetization model: WallpaperZ at freemium against MD Widgets's subscription. WallpaperZ also leads on review sentiment (62% vs 53%). MD Widgets's advantage is ratings volume (6.4K vs 255) and chart position (#115 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MD Widgets sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and WallpaperZ sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for MD Widgets against 4.3 for WallpaperZ. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MD Widgets has 6.4K ratings behind it against 255, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 53% of MD Widgets's written reviews are positive against 62% of WallpaperZ's.

MD Widgets ships an update every 11 days, WallpaperZ fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
