# Crochet Patterns vs Knit Pro

The clearest difference is monetization model: Knit Pro at free with in-app purchases against Crochet Patterns's subscription. Knit Pro also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). Crochet Patterns's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 65%). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crochet Patterns sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Knit Pro sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $11.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Crochet Patterns against 4.5 for Knit Pro. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 162 and 149 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 74% of Crochet Patterns's written reviews are positive against 65% of Knit Pro's.

Crochet Patterns ships an update every 2 weeks, Knit Pro every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
