# Curlytics vs Formula by PRV8

The clearest difference is rating: Formula by PRV8 at 5.0 against Curlytics's 4.2. Formula by PRV8 also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months). Curlytics's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Curlytics sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Formula by PRV8 sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Formula by PRV8 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Curlytics has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Curlytics ships an update every 2 months, Formula by PRV8 every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
