# The Vampire's Mask vs Tabletop Codex

The clearest difference is rating: Tabletop Codex at 4.9 against The Vampire's Mask's 3.0. Tabletop Codex also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (24 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Vampire's Mask sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Tabletop Codex sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tabletop Codex holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tabletop Codex has 24 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Vampire's Mask ships an update every 8 months, Tabletop Codex every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
