# My Buffalo vs Mythings

The clearest difference is ads: My Buffalo at none against Mythings's shown. My Buffalo also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Mythings's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 8 months) and review sentiment (42% vs 27%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

My Buffalo holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mythings has 338 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of My Buffalo's written reviews are positive against 42% of Mythings's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

My Buffalo ships an update every 8 months, Mythings every 8 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
