# Name Chat vs Sakura

The clearest difference is ads: Sakura at none against Name Chat's shown. Sakura also leads on ratings volume (22K vs 24) and review sentiment (97% vs 83%). Name Chat's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Name Chat sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Sakura sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Name Chat against 4.8 for Sakura. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sakura has 22K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of Name Chat's written reviews are positive against 97% of Sakura's.

Name Chat ships an update every 3 days, Sakura every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
