# Name Chat vs toongether

The clearest difference is ratings volume: toongether at 3.8K against Name Chat's 24. Name Chat's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Name Chat sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and toongether sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Name Chat against 4.7 for toongether. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: toongether has 3.8K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 83% and 83% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 13, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
