# STLight vs Surplife

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Surplife at 54% against STLight's 0%. Surplife also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 1). STLight's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

STLight holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Surplife has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of STLight's written reviews are positive against 54% of Surplife's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

STLight ships an update every 5 months, Surplife fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
