# Renner vs Freespoke

Renner and Freespoke both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 43% of Freespoke's written reviews are positive against 0% of Renner's. Freespoke also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 14 months) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 17). Renner's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Freespoke sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Renner asks for nothing beyond the download.

Renner holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freespoke has 4.6K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Renner's written reviews are positive against 43% of Freespoke's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Renner ships an update every 14 months, Freespoke every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
