# Understood vs CompClarity

The clearest difference is monetization model: CompClarity at free against Understood's free with in-app purchases. CompClarity also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Understood's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CompClarity holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Understood has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
