# Nerdish vs EarthLayer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: EarthLayer at 100% against Nerdish's 60%. EarthLayer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5). Nerdish's advantage is ratings volume (2.7K vs 5) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nerdish sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. EarthLayer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Nerdish holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nerdish has 2.7K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Nerdish's written reviews are positive against 100% of EarthLayer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nerdish ships an update every 5 days, EarthLayer weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
