# Ride SMART Flex vs Flex Transit

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Flex Transit at 71% against Ride SMART Flex's 32%. Flex Transit also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Ride SMART Flex's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 22). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ride SMART Flex holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ride SMART Flex has 2.2K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Ride SMART Flex's written reviews are positive against 71% of Flex Transit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ride SMART Flex ships an update every 4 weeks, Flex Transit monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
