# Dollicon vs Avatar Maker

The clearest difference is update cadence: Avatar Maker at weekly against Dollicon's monthly. Avatar Maker also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). Dollicon's advantage is ratings volume (8.4K vs 221) and review sentiment (69% vs 50%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dollicon sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Avatar Maker sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dollicon holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dollicon has 8.4K ratings behind it against 221, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Dollicon's written reviews are positive against 50% of Avatar Maker's.

Dollicon ships an update monthly, Avatar Maker weekly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
