# Open vs Rono LMS

The clearest difference is update cadence: Rono LMS at every 3 weeks against Open's every 2 months. Rono LMS also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Open ships an update every 2 months, Rono LMS every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 5, 2026.
