# The Next Trail vs Field Command Pro

The clearest difference is rating: Field Command Pro at 5.0 against The Next Trail's 4.8. The Next Trail's advantage is ratings volume (38 vs 3) and chart position (#194 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Next Trail sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Field Command Pro sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $99.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Field Command Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Next Trail has 38 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
