# The Next Trail vs RuggedRiders

The clearest difference is ratings volume: The Next Trail at 43 against RuggedRiders's 1. The Next Trail also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Next Trail sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and RuggedRiders sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RuggedRiders holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Next Trail has 43 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Next Trail ships an update weekly, RuggedRiders fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
