# Stencil vs Printcil

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Stencil at 125 against Printcil's 1. Printcil's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 42%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stencil sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Printcil sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Printcil holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stencil has 125 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of Stencil's written reviews are positive against 63% of Printcil's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
