# Stencil vs Learn Drawing Offline

The clearest difference is ads: Stencil at none against Learn Drawing Offline's shown. Stencil also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Learn Drawing Offline's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 42%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stencil sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Learn Drawing Offline sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stencil holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 125 and 92 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Stencil's written reviews are positive against 60% of Learn Drawing Offline's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stencil ships an update fortnightly, Learn Drawing Offline every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
