# Gravity Noodle vs Material Shifter

The clearest difference is rating: Gravity Noodle at 4.6 against Material Shifter's 3.9. Gravity Noodle also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (16K vs 27). Material Shifter's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 34%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gravity Noodle sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Material Shifter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gravity Noodle holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gravity Noodle has 16K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Gravity Noodle's written reviews are positive against 50% of Material Shifter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gravity Noodle ships an update every 2 weeks, Material Shifter every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
