# TowerTank vs WidgetEgg

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WidgetEgg at none against TowerTank's 1. WidgetEgg also leads on ratings volume (39 vs 1). TowerTank's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TowerTank sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. WidgetEgg asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for TowerTank against 5.0 for WidgetEgg. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WidgetEgg has 39 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

TowerTank ships an update every 2 days, WidgetEgg every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
