# Cipher VPN vs Privacy Pro VPN

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cipher VPN at every 5 days against Privacy Pro VPN's monthly. Privacy Pro VPN's advantage is review sentiment (66% vs 42%) and rating (4.1 vs 3.8). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cipher VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Privacy Pro VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Privacy Pro VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 845 and 1K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of Cipher VPN's written reviews are positive against 66% of Privacy Pro VPN's.

Cipher VPN ships an update every 5 days, Privacy Pro VPN monthly. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
