# CalcuRun vs DigiMedal

The clearest difference is monetization model: CalcuRun at free against DigiMedal's freemium. CalcuRun also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1) and iOS requirement (18.6 vs 26.0). DigiMedal's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CalcuRun sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and DigiMedal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for CalcuRun against 5.0 for DigiMedal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CalcuRun has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CalcuRun ships an update every 4 weeks, DigiMedal every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
