# StudyPod vs Study Surfers

StudyPod and Study Surfers both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 80% of StudyPod's written reviews are positive against 50% of Study Surfers's. StudyPod also leads on ratings volume (62 vs 7). Study Surfers's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudyPod sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Study Surfers sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Study Surfers holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StudyPod has 62 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of StudyPod's written reviews are positive against 50% of Study Surfers's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

StudyPod ships an update fortnightly, Study Surfers every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
