# Next Keyboard vs Cursive Writing

The clearest difference is rating: Cursive Writing at 4.6 against Next Keyboard's 4.3. Next Keyboard's advantage is ratings volume (44 vs 8) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Next Keyboard sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Cursive Writing sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cursive Writing holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Next Keyboard has 44 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
