# Castos vs BarkHub

The clearest difference is rating: BarkHub at 4.3 against Castos's 2.8. BarkHub also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (33% vs 24%). Castos's advantage is ratings volume (43 vs 3) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BarkHub holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Castos has 43 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 24% of Castos's written reviews are positive against 33% of BarkHub's.

Castos ships an update every 2 months, BarkHub every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
