# Todolist vs TaskMate

The clearest difference is update cadence: Todolist at every 5 weeks against TaskMate's every 9 months. Todolist also leads on ratings volume (15 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Todolist sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and TaskMate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Todolist against 5.0 for TaskMate. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Todolist has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Todolist ships an update every 5 weeks, TaskMate every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
