# Lingory vs Flipside

The clearest difference is rating: Flipside at 5.0 against Lingory's 4.0. Flipside also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 64%). Lingory's advantage is ratings volume (107 vs 6) and monetization model (freemium vs paid). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lingory sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Flipside sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flipside holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lingory has 107 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Lingory's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flipside's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
