# Dorico vs Practice Log

Dorico and Practice Log both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Practice Log's written reviews are positive against 55% of Dorico's. Practice Log also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). Dorico's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dorico sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Practice Log sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Practice Log holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dorico has 2.2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of Dorico's written reviews are positive against 100% of Practice Log's.

Dorico ships an update every 3 weeks, Practice Log every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
