# Study Timer! vs Matrix Clocca

The clearest difference is rating: Study Timer! at 4.8 against Matrix Clocca's 2.3. Study Timer! also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 14.0). Matrix Clocca's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 22%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Study Timer! sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Matrix Clocca sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Study Timer! holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Study Timer!'s written reviews are positive against 50% of Matrix Clocca's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Study Timer! ships an update fortnightly, Matrix Clocca weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
