# Fingerprint X vs App Lock

The clearest difference is rating: App Lock at 4.5 against Fingerprint X's 3.2. App Lock also leads on ratings volume (5.3K vs 18). Fingerprint X's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fingerprint X sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days and App Lock sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App Lock has 5.3K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Fingerprint X's written reviews are positive against 58% of App Lock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fingerprint X ships an update every 4 days, App Lock fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
