Alarum is a gentle, easy-to-read alarm clock: the screen and flashlight brighten like a sunrise while your sound fades up. It's ad-free and tracking-free, with a card-like interface where a swipe is all it takes to undo. Free to use, with a one-time unlock (or yearly subscription) for the extras. If you bought Alarum when it was a paid app, everything is already unlocked. Swipe left to queue up the next alarm, or swipe right to return to the previous one. As long as an alarm’s time hasn’t passed, you can turn it on or off with a swipe. Snoozes are just more alarms you can swipe on or off. Swipe to ignore a snooze and queue up the next alarm. Want to go back to snoozing? Just swipe it back on. I’ve focused on an alarm clock’s core purpose and tried to limit extra features. So it has… …Alarms: • One-time alarms, or repeating on the days of the week you choose • Repeating alarms can skip holidays you choose (US-centric) • Tap anywhere to snooze for as many minutes as you set • Sounds fade up over however many seconds you’d like • 16 environment sound loops, or a random one from your preferred sounds • Or the built-in iPhone ringtones (including the Classics), five colors of noise, or songs, albums and playlists from Apple Music • Favorite songs, albums and playlists so they float to the top • The screen and flashlight can brighten before the sound, poorly imitating a sunrise • Alarms hold their wall-clock time: 8:00am is 8:00am wherever you are, and through Daylight Saving Time • On iOS 26 and later, alarms sound through Apple’s AlarmKit even when the app is closed or the phone is locked (the gentle fade and sunrise need the app open) …Sleep Timers: • Quickly set one using the previous settings • The same sounds as Alarms, including Apple Music • Optionally fade out from the halfway point to the end • Swipe it away to stop it, or swipe it back to continue …Clock: • Show as little as the hour and minute, or add Seconds, AM/PM or 24-hour time, Weekday, Month and Date, Year, or the current Temperature colored for what you consider hot or cold • Rotate to landscape for a full-screen bedside clock that defaults to light on dark and dims with a swipe • The display brightens a little at dawn so it’s readable once light gets into the room • Double tap the clock to brighten it for a quick check in the dark …Other: • A midnight flashlight that turns off when you rotate to landscape • A unique, simple and easy-to-read font • 7 color themes with matching app icons • Layouts for iPhone, iPhone Duo, and iPad • A daily hint (you can turn them off) …Unlocking Features: Alarum is free to download and use with time only, one alarm or sleep timer at a time, with environment sounds, ringtones and noise. A one-time In-App Purchase or a yearly subscription unlocks all the other features. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple Music songs need an Apple Music subscription and, if they're streamed, a connection when the alarm goes off. • No fancy pictures, traffic or news • No sleep tracking or sleep reminders • No calendar integration • No games or puzzles to solve to turn it off • No ads • No pestering, just Apple’s standard rating request now and then • No personal information collected • No metrics collected* • No information sent to the developer or any third party* *(Alarum only talks to Apple: Apple Weather for Temperature (using your location, and only if you turn it on), Apple Music for music, and the App Store for purchases. Apple may collect information under its own privacy policy, outside my control.) Alarum is just a nice alarm clock designed to wake you up gently. Having trouble or have an idea?
