# Firehook vs Former

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Firehook at 23 against Former's 1. Firehook also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Firehook against 5.0 for Former. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Firehook has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Firehook ships an update every 11 days, Former weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
