# Recode Studios vs newme

The clearest difference is rating: Recode Studios at 5.0 against newme's 4.5. Recode Studios also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). newme's advantage is ratings volume (785 vs 7) and review sentiment (78% vs 63%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Recode Studios holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: newme has 785 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Recode Studios's written reviews are positive against 78% of newme's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Recode Studios ships an update every 3 weeks, newme fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
