# Katalyst vs PEPPER

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Katalyst at none against PEPPER's 2. Katalyst also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PEPPER sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.90 per month. Katalyst asks for nothing beyond the download.

Katalyst holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 59 and 22 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Katalyst's written reviews are positive against 83% of PEPPER's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Katalyst ships an update every 3 weeks, PEPPER fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
