# Fileplay vs SpaceController

The clearest difference is ads: SpaceController at none against Fileplay's shown. SpaceController also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 weeks) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Fileplay's advantage is ratings volume (4.2K vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Fileplay against 4.5 for SpaceController. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fileplay has 4.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Fileplay ships an update every 6 weeks, SpaceController every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
