# IFS Guide vs EmRes

The clearest difference is rating: IFS Guide at 4.8 against EmRes's 3.7. IFS Guide also leads on ratings volume (824 vs 3) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). EmRes's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 14) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IFS Guide sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. EmRes asks for nothing beyond the download.

IFS Guide holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IFS Guide has 824 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IFS Guide ships an update fortnightly, EmRes every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
