# Flight Apprentice vs Words

The clearest difference is price: Flight Apprentice at Free against Words's $2.99. Flight Apprentice also leads on ratings volume (8 vs 1). Words's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Flight Apprentice is free to download; Words costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Flight Apprentice against 5.0 for Words. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flight Apprentice has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Flight Apprentice ships an update every 3 months, Words fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
