# Opera GX vs Vivaldi Powerful Web Browser

The clearest difference is monetization model: Vivaldi Powerful Web Browser at free against Opera GX's free with in-app purchases. Opera GX's advantage is ratings volume (98K vs 4.5K). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Opera GX against 4.7 for Vivaldi Powerful Web Browser. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Opera GX has 98K ratings behind it against 4.5K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Opera GX's written reviews are positive against 77% of Vivaldi Powerful Web Browser's.

Opera GX ships an update monthly, Vivaldi Powerful Web Browser fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
