# PDF Scanner vs Birthdays

The clearest difference is ads: Birthdays at none against PDF Scanner's shown. Birthdays also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Birthdays sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Scanner ships an update every 2 months, Birthdays weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
