# MyGames Database vs iGames Retro

The clearest difference is rating: MyGames Database at 4.6 against iGames Retro's 3.7. MyGames Database also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 6). iGames Retro's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 70%) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyGames Database sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and iGames Retro sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyGames Database holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyGames Database has 1.1K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of MyGames Database's written reviews are positive against 81% of iGames Retro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyGames Database ships an update weekly, iGames Retro every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
