# Zip Extractor vs Folder

The clearest difference is ads: Zip Extractor at none against Folder's shown. Zip Extractor also leads on ratings volume (305 vs 7). Folder's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zip Extractor sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month and Folder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Folder holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zip Extractor has 305 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Zip Extractor's written reviews are positive against 67% of Folder's.

Zip Extractor ships an update every 6 months, Folder every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
