# Secure VPN vs VPN

Secure VPN and VPN both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 82% of Secure VPN's written reviews are positive against 66% of VPN's. Secure VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). VPN's advantage is iOS requirement (12.1 vs 14.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure VPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 409 and 409 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Secure VPN's written reviews are positive against 66% of VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Secure VPN ships an update weekly, VPN fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
