# Secure VPN vs WireVPN

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WireVPN at none against Secure VPN's 9. WireVPN also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (110K vs 409). Secure VPN's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (82% vs 69%). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure VPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. WireVPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

WireVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WireVPN has 110K ratings behind it against 409, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Secure VPN's written reviews are positive against 69% of WireVPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Secure VPN ships an update weekly, WireVPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
