# Hair Challenge vs Wig Maker

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Wig Maker at none against Hair Challenge's 4. Wig Maker also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Hair Challenge's advantage is ratings volume (429K vs 4.9K) and chart position (#153 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hair Challenge sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Wig Maker asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Hair Challenge against 4.5 for Wig Maker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hair Challenge has 429K ratings behind it against 4.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 52% of Hair Challenge's written reviews are positive against 50% of Wig Maker's.

Hair Challenge ships an update weekly, Wig Maker every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
