# Cryptomator vs Lexar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Lexar at none against Cryptomator's 5. Cryptomator's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (441 vs 19). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cryptomator sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Lexar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Cryptomator holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cryptomator has 441 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Cryptomator's written reviews are positive against 67% of Lexar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
