# Video Compressor vs reduce video size

Video Compressor and reduce video size both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of reduce video size's written reviews are positive against 15% of Video Compressor's. Video Compressor's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (438 vs 6). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Compressor sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and reduce video size sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Compressor holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Compressor has 438 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Video Compressor's written reviews are positive against 100% of reduce video size's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
