# Runtime TV vs Trunkful

The clearest difference is ads: Trunkful at none against Runtime TV's shown. Trunkful also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Runtime TV's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 4) and device support (5 vs 3). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Trunkful holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Runtime TV has 1.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Runtime TV ships an update every 3 months, Trunkful fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
