# Wings Etc. vs Smart Smoker

The clearest difference is update cadence: Smart Smoker at every 2 weeks against Wings Etc.'s every 6 months. Wings Etc.'s advantage is ratings volume (4.9K vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Smart Smoker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wings Etc. has 4.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Wings Etc. ships an update every 6 months, Smart Smoker every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
