# Octopus vs choreus

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: choreus at none against Octopus's 9. Octopus's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.5). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Octopus sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. choreus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Octopus ships an update weekly, choreus every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and September 9, 2026 respectively.
